A few tips to help you choose your fabulous Cruise Holiday Ship!
To ensure that your dream vacation becomes a reality, it
is important that you choose your cruise holiday ship correctly. But don't
panic! This is not as difficult as it is important.
Are you looking for a special romantic
getaway holiday, or is an adventure cruise more to your liking? Will it
be an Alaskan cruise or a cruise to the
Caribbean, the Mediterranean or the
South Pacific?
All cruise ships can offer a fabulous holiday. To make it special, you
should first match the type of vacation you are looking for to an
appropriate cruise ship and cruise itinerary. There are cruise holidays that
would be perfect for that special romantic getaway. As a young fun-loving
adventurer, you would not want to be on a cruise catering more to the
rocking chair set. And the rocking chair set would not necessarily
appreciate the raucous behavior of youth on a family oriented cruise. There
are special cruise itineraries for families and there are cruise lines that
cater to a more subdued and sophisticated crowd. Perhaps a cruise holiday
that includes wine tasting is your "cup-of-tea".
Generalizing some of the cruise ships
You will of course want to check with your on-line cruise
agent to verify that the cruise line, cruise ship, and cruise itinerary are
indeed what you are looking for in a cruise holiday. We will try to
generalize a few items here.
For those romantic getaways, almost any cruise ship can be considered a
"Love Boat". For luxurious intimate cruise ship settings, SeaDream Yacht
Club is a good bet. Silversea Cruises offer pampering and exotic
itineraries. The Cordon Bleu restaurants of the Radisson Seven Seas Cruise
Ships offer an elegant culinary "dinner for two" experience. And what could
be more romantic than a South Pacific cruise on board the Tahitian Princess
one of the cruise ships in the fleet of Princess Cruises (where the original
"Love Boat" came from).
If an adventure cruise is your idea of a holiday to remember, perhaps the
rock climbing wall on board the Royal Caribbean cruise ships will fit the
bill. There are skating rinks basketball and volleyball courts and dive
shops on some as well. There are special cruises available from time to time
including ecological cruises to the Galapagos and places of equal intrigue
and interest. Cruises to the Mayan Riviera of Mexico can provide some
interesting shore tours as well. And of course the Alaskan cruises can offer
kayaking the fjords and helicopter rides to a Glacier!
For the family cruise holiday, what could be more entertaining than a Disney
Cruise where magically the cartoon characters appear on board? Disney
Cruises provides family entertainment like only Disney can. These cruises
can be coupled with a stay at Walt Disney World. Carnival Cruise Lines
offers Camp Carnival programming for children and teens. Princess Cruises
offers the Love Boat Kids program. Royal Caribbean offers Captain Sealy's
Kids Galley menu for ages 3 to 6.Holland America cruises offer Camp HAL and
Celebrity Cruises offer the Admiral T's program.
If your cruise holiday requires a cruise ship with good fitness facilities,
you are in luck. Many of the cruise ships offer a variety of fitness
programs, facilities and equipment. Carnival Cruise and Princess Cruises
offer great gyms and exercise instruction. Norwegian Cruise Lines and Royal
Caribbean Cruise Lines also have excellent facilities for fitness buffs
including fabulous spas.
For a more sophisticated cruise holiday experience, or if culinary
excellence on the seas is required, many of the "upscale" cruise lines offer
superb pampering service and cuisine. Crystal Cruises, Silversea Cruises,
Seabourn, and Celebrity Cruises all offer varying degrees of excellence.
There are of course others. For example, Cunard's Queen Mary remains the
queen of the seas for cruise holidays in many people's opinions.
For Casino lovers, Crystal Cruises offers Caesar's Palance at Sea,
replicating the Vegas real deal! Many of the larger cruise ships offer
casino excitement as well.
Many of the larger cruise ships also offer the theater lover a great cruise
holiday experience. Broadway and Las Vegas style shows are presented
throughout your cruise holiday.
There are holiday cruises that cater to golfers. Other cruises cater to
water "babies" with snorkeling, diving, jet skis and sailing available.
