As you may have already read, (see

we have planned a cruise vacation for our family aboard the Golden
Princess cruise ship. This magnificent ship can cater to a wide
variety of tastes - a requirement for our family aged 25 to 85.
Princess Cruise Lines was chosen because their cruise ships are designed to
appeal to this wide variety, are large and loaded with amenities. We
required a variety of dining choices as well.
Here we'll give you a few general statistics regarding the Golden Princess:

Dining choices aboard Golden
Princess
Traditional
In the Canaletto Dining Room, Golden Princess offers traditional fixed
seating. Serving at the same time for each meal, you will be served by your
own waiter throughout your cruise.
Anytime
Anytime dining allows you the option of eating at different times and in
different venues. This flexibility in dining is offered at the Donatello
Dining Room and the Bernini Dining Room.
Specialty
As with all of Princess' ships, the specialty restaurants here are in big
demand. A reservation is recommended for this dining option to the Sterling
Steakhouse, Sabatini's (Italian trattoria), and Ultimate Balcony Dining. (A
cover charge applies.)
Casual
Grab a quick bite whenever you like at the casual dining eateries on board.
Venues include 24-hour dining at the Horizon court, the Wine and caviar bar,
the Lobby bar and patisserie, Sundaes ice cream bar, Preggo Pizzaria,
Trident Grill, afternoon tea and 24-hour room service.
Entertainment Golden Princess Style
Theatres
Enjoy fantastic Broadway style shows and first run movies in the Atlantis
Lounge and the Vista Show Lounge.
Hot Spots
The sizzling hot spots on board include the Atlantis Casino (one of the
largest at sea), the Explorer's Lounge with nightclub-style entertainment,
And Skywalker's Nightclub (15 decks -about 150 feet - above the sea)! How
about the Movies Under The Stars outdoor theatre?
Lounges
Find and intimate corner to enjoy your company and sip your cocktail, or
savor a special cigar in a swanky place in the Golden Princess' Bars and
lounges. Visit the Wheelhouse Bar, Player's Cigar Bar, and the Promenade
Lounge and Bar.
Golden Princess Activities
Pools and Spas
This ship is blessed with four pools: Calypso Reef and Pool(plus two hot
tubs), Neptune's Reef and Pool (plus two hot tubs), the Terrace Pool, and
the Oasis Bar & hot tubs.
Sports
Like to keep on the run? Golden Princess can certainly accommodate you. The
Lotus Spa®, gym and fitness area will keep you toned and relaxed. Exercise
in the Swim-against-the-current lap pool. If golf's your game, check out the
golf simulators and the Princess Links nine hole putting course. The jogging
track, shuffleboard, and Center Court round out the facilities.
Enrichment
Princess Cruises offers lectures, art exhibits, and classes taught by
experts. A world class art collection, gallery and auctions are among the
activities. 24-hour internet service is available. The ScholarShip@Sea ®
program is design to enlighten and entertain. The library and writing room
provide sanctuary for quiet reading and writing and the Hearts and Minds
Wedding Chapel provides space for contemplation.
Boutiques
Of course, Princess provides shoppers with boutiques offering great deals on
designer clothing and gifts. To do some name dropping: Lladro, Calvin Klein,
Tommy Bahama, Fossil, Estee Lauder and Clinique... (duty free).
