To reach Port Canaveral and the cruise ships, you may want to pre-plan
your transportation!
Port Canaveral is the second busiest cruise port in the
world. The port is home to some of the finest cruise terminals as well. With
six cruise terminals in operation and two more on the boards, the traffic on
embarkation and debarkation can be more than a little intimidating. To reach
the Port Canaveral cruise ships,
transportation can be obtained in a number of ways.
If you are flying to one of the nearby Port Canaveral airports, many of the
cruise lines and travel agencies arrange for busses from the airport to the
terminals. This transportation is best planned well in advance and purchased
at the time of booking your cruise to avoid delays at the airport and in
arriving at Port Canaveral.
Of course taxi and limo transportation is also available but again,
arranging these at the airport can sometimes be stressful and can cause
delays in getting to the port cruise terminal.
If you are planning to "overnight" in the Port Canaveral area, some of the
hotels offer shuttle service to the terminals. It's best to check before
booking your hotel if this choice of transportation is desired.
For those of you to whom transportation to the port means driving, there are
paved parking lots located at each Port Canaveral terminal. These are well
sign posted and are under 24 hour surveillance. The current parking rates
are $10.00 per day up to 20 feet of vehicle length and $20.00 per day for
vehicles over 20 feet. The total amount of the stay must be paid in full at
the time of arrival. Visa, Mastercard, Traveller's Checks issued in U.S.
dollars and cash are accepted. These terms and rates are subject to change
without notice.
Whatever means of transportation you choose, enjoy your departure from the
Port Canaveral cruise ships terminals aboard your "getaway ship" and return
excited and relaxed!
