Romance on the High Seas – Princess Cruiselines’ Ruby Princess
Princess Cruiselines’ Ruby Princess - the newest jewel of the Princess
fleet - initiated her inaugural season in November 2008. The on-board
ceremonies celebrated romance – what would you expect aboard a “Love Boat"? –
with a theme of “Ruby Red”. Trista and Ryan Sutter of "The Bachelorette", were
the christening couple breaking the traditional bottle of champagne on her
to mark the newest gem’s launch. And to boot, it was the couple’s own fifth
anniversary.

There were hundreds of guests joining in on the Princess Cruise Ship’s
celebration, with a ruby-haired singer serenading the crowd. The evening
event was an elegant “Ruby Red-Tie” gala as the magnificent
cruise ship set sail from
Port Everglades. The two-night cruise featured a mass wedding-vow renewal
ceremony for the guests.
The Love Boats
Princess Cruises has long been associated with
romantic get-aways.
The early ships were the setting for the popular television show "The Love
Boat". And to ensure that romance remained in our minds, the official naming
of the Ruby Princess was followed by the ultimate in romance – a wedding
amidst the festivities with the bride being given away by non-other than the
captain of "The Love Boat" himself, Gavin McLeod!
